JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The jabs on jobs are front and center.

But Kris Tena thinks sometimes political posturing gets in the way of real solutions.

"I wonder about that. I really don't know if they're making an honest effort to help us find a job," she said.

She has been unemployed for four months. Now, she's back at WorkSource in Jacksonville to polish her resume.

And she certainly not alone. The latest numbers show applications for unemployment benefits surged last week.

"Companies are not really really hiring yet. They're not taking the chance. The good news is that staffing companies are really booming," says Candance Moody of WorkSource Jacksonville.
