Chris graduated from Fort Valley State University in Fort Valley, Georgia, with a degree in Communication. Shortly, before graduating from FVSU in May 2004, Chris accepted his first television job at WMAZ as a news assistant in December 2003. From there he quickly moved up the ranks, becoming a video journalist, a general assignment reporter, then sports anchor in October 2006.
During his time in the Peach State, Central Georgians could count on Chris for high-energy, play-by-play action of the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta Braves, Georgia Bulldogs, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, as well as local high school sports in Central Georgia.
Chris knew at an early age that he wanted to pursue a career in sports journalism. "Growing up in a family of gifted athletes, I always had a hunger to be a part of the game. Ironically, the athletic gene skipped me. So, I decided my next best move was to become a sports journalist."
Chris says he's looking forward to enjoying the sunny beaches of the Florida coast and is thrilled to be a part of the First Coast family.
In his spare time, Chris loves to spend time with his family, hit the gym, attend church, and mentor children.
