JACKSONVILL BEACH, Fla. -- What a beautiful day to learn to surf! Children ages 4 through 10 enjoyed splashing in the waves and learning how to surf at the 4th Annual Super Grom Surf Festival, held on July 14, 2012, at Jacksonville Beach just south of the Pier.
In addition, there was plenty of food and giveaways. Each participant received a free lanyard with a 1st Place Medal

The Florida Surfing Association (http://www.floridasurfing.org), which organized this event three years ago, was created in 2003 as an organized body for surfing within the United States, specifically Florida. Its mission is to spread the sport of surfing to its members and their families throughout Florida. The Association states: "Our pride comes with nurturing the communities that we live in and offering programs that encompass our passion for surfing and the enrichment of individuals through the sport. We administer competitions, training, and coaching to establish and select members to compete successfully on a local, national and international level in both amateur and professional competitions."

Registered surfers also enjoyed some competitive limbo for a $2400 Grand Prize (Game Day Experience at the ABA 2012 National Champion Jacksonville Giants 1st game of Season 3 - http://www.jacksonvillegiants.com) donated by the Giants and Miller on Sports. Local Loyalties, a partner with the Giants and Miller on Sports, attended the event and participated in providing giveaways, gift bags, and food to the participants and their families.
