The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office announced three arrests today in connection with a shooting that left a 13-year-old in the hospital with life threatening injuries.

According to a JSO police report, during a physical altercation Wednesday afternoon between 24-year-old Lamonica Smith and a man identified as "T," Smith's eye and mouth were injured.

Later in the afternoon, Smith and several suspects went to T's apartment to confront him about the earlier altercation and vandalized T's car, the report said. While vandalizing the car, gun shots rang out and a 13-year-old victim was struck at least two times.

A patrol officer in the area was flagged down by the suspects who alerted him that the victim that had been shot. Deputies on the scene noticed the suspects had sticks, bats, a board and a knife in their car, report said.

Christine Monique King, 22, Adonia Jones, 22, and Lamonica L. Smith, 24 were taken into custody on charges of child neglect.

JSO is seeking four people of interest in this case:

  • Brittany Chanelle Myers, 22
  • Eric Alonzo Jackson, 24
  • Curtis Christopher Warren  (no photo available)
  • Joshua Donell King, 23
