Average retail gasoline prices in Jacksonville have fallen 4.5 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.36/g yesterday. This compares with the national average that has fallen 0.6 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.46/g, according to gasoline price website JacksonvilleGasPrices.com.

Brazil Business Solutions plays key role in trade mission to Brazil

Brazil Business Solutions is among eight Jacksonville companies joining Gov. Rick Scott, Jacksonville Mayor Alvin Brown and officials from Enterprise Florida aiming to boost trade with one of the world’s emerging economies. The trip runs Oct. 23-27. Brazil is currently the state of Florida’s No. 1 trading partner and Jacksonville’s No. 2 trade partner behind Puerto Rico. Brazil is the seventh-largest economy in the world and, in 2010, trade between Florida and Brazil totaled approximately $13.7 billion.

Hart Bridge, Downtown Roads See Closures for FL-GA Football

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- There's a bit of a change for Downtown-bound traffic tonight.

The city of Jacksonville Public Information Office announced a temporary lane closure on the Hart Bridge.

To allow work crews to install signs for Florida-Georgia football traffic this weekend, the northbound outside lane will be closed from 7-9 p.m.

Traffic will be able to use the Mathews Bridge to detour until 9 p.m., at which time the Hart Bridge will reopen and the Mathews Bridge will close for its scheduled repair and repainting work.

Additionally for downtown traffic, Coastline Drive between the Jacksonville Landing and Newnan Street and Hogan Street from Water Street to the St. Johns River will be closed beginning at 8 a.m. Thursday, with the closure lasting until 11 p.m. Sunday.
