Sharks Fans Can Tweet Messages to Orlando Predators Next Week

Sharks Fans Can Tweet Messages to Orlando Predators Next Week

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Sharks rivalry with the Predators will soon hit a high point: five billboards across Orlando.

Back in April, the Sharks paid for a billboard in Jacksonville saying "Jacksonville sucks. See you rednecks April 30. Love the Orlando Predators."

"They don't like us and we don't like them," said Sharks owner Jeff Bouchy. "I thought it was kind of funny, but I know they didn't mean it to be funny."

The Sharks are returning the favor in preparation for next week's the matchup with Orlando.

Bouchy, watching the game at Whisky River Friday night, said they won't have just one message for Orlando.

"They're going to be the LED boards that can change," Bouchy said. "We can tell Orlando a lot of things in five days."

They will have thousands of messages on rotation and an (almost) live twitter feed.

The messages will be screened and reposted on five billboards around Orlando.

Sharks Unveil Chum's Champions

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sharks are proud to announce the launch of Chum's Champions, a new community initiative allowing underprivileged children the ability to see Jacksonville Sharks' home games from the confines of Sea Best Field.

Chum's Champions are corporate partners and individuals that purchase blocks of tickets at discounted rates. The tickets are donated to non-profit organizations dedicated to aiding Jacksonville area youth.

"Chum's Champions is an amazing new program that gives companies the opportunity to give back to the community by sending kids to a Sharks' game," commented Jeff Bouchy, Sharks' managing partner. "This is a great way for Jacksonville's corporate community to support our underprivileged youth. Our partners are giving children a night at a Sharks' game that they wouldn't otherwise have the ability to enjoy."

The two-run shot by Skipworth was his fourth of the year, and turned a 2-1 deficit into a Jacksonville 3-2 lead, which would be the final score.

Andre Dawson Visits the Baseball Grounds

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Suns are hosting a Hall of Fame visitor this week.

Andre Dawson is in town as part of his job with the Florida Marlins where he is a special assistant to the team president.  It's a position that the Hall of Famer has held for the last 12 years.

"The Hawk" is a Miami native who played 21 seasons in the Big Leagues and now does what he can to help young ballplayers reach that level.

Dawson arrived in town for Monday night's game.  He'll be in the dugout on Tuesday night and will leave town on Wednesday.

The Suns are at home through June 8th.
