Strange Thought of the Day – Can former JU Dolphins quarterback Josh McGregor make the Jaguars’ 53-man roster?

You Should Know – With a controlling second half of play, the Indiana Pacers tied up its series with the Orlando Magic, one-all, on Monday night.  Battling for loose balls and rebounds boosted the Pacers to a 93-78 win.  Indiana was led by David West, who contributed 18 points and 11 rebounds.  Since Orlando’s All-Star Dwight Howard is out for the rest of the playoffs, Glen “Big Baby” Davis has noticeably stepped up.  His 18-point, 10-rebound performance barely overshadowed his making 5 of 16 shots from the field.  Game Three is in Orlando on Wednesday night.

College Nugget – West Virginia’s athletic director Oliver Luck, once again, said in an interview he’s happy where he is.  Luck, the father of No. 1 overall draft pick Andrew, has been mentioned as a permanent successor to Dan Beebe, the Big 12’s commissioner.  The 52-year-old Luck has held his current position with West Virginia since June of 2008.

Tweet of the last 24 hours – @jeffpearlman (Jeff Pearlman, New York Times best-selling author) “Watching Todd McShay and Mel Kiper bicker over a 20-yr-old is just sad, pathetic, empty television.”

Stat(s) of the Day – Reigning National League MVP Ryan Braun hit three homeruns and tied a career-high with six runs batted in.  He guided the Brewers to an 8-3 victory over the San Diego Padres on Monday night.  Braun is the first player to hit three dingers in Petco Park since it opened in 2004.

Link of the Day – In an interview with the Chicago Tribune, former NFL running back Rashaan Salaam informs rookies what not to do.

Video of the Day – In last night’s Game Two between the Heat and Knicks, Dwyane Wade tossed Mike Bibby’s shoe aside.  Mark it down as a competitive advantage.

Question of the Day – After a frustrated Amare Stoudemire punched the glass casing around a fire extinguisher after Monday night’s loss, do the Knicks have any shot of coming back from this 0-2 hole to beat the Heat?
