Jaguars Bite of the Day – The Jacksonville Jaguars host their 18th Annual Bud Light Draft Party tonight at the Markets at Town Center.  The fun kicks off at 6:30 p.m.  Jaguars fans in attendance will be able to watch the draft on a large LED screen.  Some of the players who will be there include Blaine Gabbert, Laurent Robinson, Jeremy Mincey, Tyson Alualu, Rashad Jennings and Derek Cox.

Strange Thought of the Day – The Jaguars won’t draft a wide receiver or defensive end in the first round.

Stat(s) of the Day – Out of players chosen in the past three drafts, Jacksonville is tied for second-most with six draft picks placed on either injured reserve or the physically unable to perform (PUP) list.

Question of the Day – Can the Jaguars’ first-round pick be a starter from Day One?

You Should Know – NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said the league is still conducting interviews regarding the New Orleans Saints’ bounty program and which Saints players were involved.  Goodell expects a decision after this week on player fines and/or suspensions.  He made it clear that the NFL is “in the final stages of working on discipline involving the players.  We hope to do that very soon and get that behind us.”

College Nugget – Those in control of major college football’s postseason future met for eight hours on Wednesday.  It marked the fourth gathering of the year.  Much of the focus has been on a four-team playoff with two national semifinals and a title game.  BCS executive director Bill Hancock said, “I think that’s what everyone wants to do.  Get down to two, maybe three.  I think we’re making good progress on that.  I think we’re going to make it.”

Broadcasting Note – Earlier in the week, Deion Sanders and his estranged wife Pilar were involved in an altercation.  The Pro Football Hall of Famer was cited for misdemeanor simple assault from Monday’s incident.  Sanders is still scheduled to appear on NFL Network for draft coverage.
