Jaguars Bite of the Day – From the Florida Times-Union, Terrance Knighton’s agent said the Jaguars defensive tackle was injured while trying to break up a fight early Sunday morning. Knighton’s agent, Tony Fleming, said Knighton did not throw punches nor did he threaten to shoot anyone. He suffered a cut to his eye, which required surgery on Sunday morning. The injury is serious, but is not thought to be career-threatening.
You Should Know – On Tuesday night, Arkansas fired head football coach Bobby Petrino stemming from an embarrassing scandal, which began nearly one week ago. Arkansas athletic director Jeff Long fought back tears at a press conference. He said Petrino’s “pattern of misleading and manipulative behavior” led to his firing. In a prepared statement, Petrino stated, “I’m sorry. These two words seem very inadequate. But that is my heart. All I have been able to think about is the number of people I’ve let down by making selfish decisions.” The 51-year-old Petrino had been placed on paid administrative leave Thursday.
