Get your beer steins ready, Jaxtoberfest is here

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jacksonville city officials are preparing for the inaugural Jaxtoberfest event at the city's shipyards. The Oktoberfest like event kicks off at 3 p.m. Friday afternoon.

There are lots of events that people can come check out. Games include a wiener dog race, over-sized Jenga, and beer games.

This is a family friendly event.  There will be a kids section of the festival called Kinderfest. Kids can get their faces painted, play in bouncy houses, and do pumpkin bowling.

Ticket information:

Friday: $8 from 3-10 p.m. 

Saturday: Free from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m., $8 from 1-11 p.m.
