Supervisor of Elections Reports Day 8 Early Voting Totals

Supervisor of Elections Jerry Holland announced 2,540 voters have cast a ballot on the eighth day of Early Voting for Jacksonville's 2011 Unitary General Election.

As of Book Closing, April 18th, there are 518,620 registered voters in Duval County eligible to cast a ballot in Jacksonville’s 2011 Unitary General Election on May 17th. 2,540 voters cast a ballot at the close of business on Monday, May 9th, for an Early Voting total of 18,770. In addition, 19,051 Absentee Ballots were verified by signatures and have been validated to be opened and processed by the Canvassing Board. This brings the total number of ballots cast through Day Eight of Early Voting to 37,821, which is 7.3% of eligible voters.

Early Voting continues at ten locations throughout Duval County through Sunday, May 15th. The Supervisor of Elections office will be sending daily reports indicating the cumulative totals of the number of voters who have voted Early or voted by Absentee.
