Jacksonville Attorney Attends White House Event for Community Leaders

An attorney with Farah & Farah, one of North Florida’s largest law firms, is back on the First Coast with new ideas to improve her community after a visit to Washington, D.C.  Leslie Scott Jean-Bart took part in the White House Community Leaders Briefing Series on Nov. 10.

Jean-Bart was one of 150 grassroots leaders from Florida invited to the event. She participated in briefings with officials from President Barack Obama’s administration, including Senior Advisor David Plouffe and Director of the Office of Public Engagement Jon Carson.

“It was an honor to be part of a select group of individuals who are grassroots leaders in their communities. This was an open forum to ask any question and get concrete information from the administration, “ Jean-Bart said. “It was also an opportunity to make sure the administration understands the issues facing Florida citizens and communities.”

Jean-Bart’s involvement in grassroots activities include volunteering as a precinct worker on Election Day and fighting for consumer rights in Tallahassee on behalf of the Florida Justice Association.

“We are very proud to have one of our own be selected for such a high honor,” said founding partner and attorney Eddie Farah. “Farah and Farah is committed to the communities we serve and Leslie was able to be a voice for those communities to our nation’s leaders.”
