Josh Scobee nominated for Bart Starr Award

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Jacksonville Jaguars player Josh Scobee, a placekicker, is one of the ten nominees nominated Thursday for the 2013 Bart Starr Awardin New Orleans, according to Athletes in Action.

The Bart Starr Award honors one NFL player for outstanding character and leadership in the home, on the field and in the community, said Katie Neff, a spokesperson for the Athletes in Action.

The award recipient is to be announced during the 26th Annual Super Bowl Breakfast, hosted by Athletes in Action, on February 1, 2013 in New Orleans.

The winner of the award is decided by NFL players and is named after NFL Hall of Famer, Bart Starr.

Neff says the award honors the player who best exemplifies Starr's commitment to family, teammates and the community.

The nominees include:
