Gingerbread Extravaganza | News
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The 11th annual Gingerbread Extravaganza thrilled visitors Saturday at the Old St. Andrews church in downtown Jacksonville.
The extravaganza is a fundraiser for the children's programs of the Jacksonville Historical Society, which has been archiving the history of Jacksonville for 83 years.
There are all kinds of gingerbread creations.
Nancy Mastin of St. Marys has been coming down from Georgia for this show for several years.
"I look forward to it. The detail is just amazing, and the creativity! I love it," Mastin said.
Emily Lissak with the Jacksonville Historical Society said, "It is so much fun. You see creations made by professionals, by children as young as 6 and 7 years old. They are all made with confections and gingerbread, and I think it is the most creative art show in town."
The Gingerbread Extravaganza runs through December 22 from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. everyday except Sunday.
The suggested donation is $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 3 through 16.
