JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A performance of "West Side Story" at the Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts was cut short Thursday night when a power surge triggered a fire alarm.
The Jacksonville Fire and Rescue Department initially reported on its Facebook just before 10 p.m. that it was "on scene of a possible fire at the Times Union Center. Station 4 on scene investigating."
JFRD then Tweeted 10 minutes later that the situation was "under control at the TU center. Power surge apparently triggered alarm."
Tyler James sent First Coast News an announcement from a box office manager, who stated that attendees should hold onto their tickets so they could either be reseated at a future performance, or receive a refund.
