Woman arrested for murder after police say she stabbed boyfriend | News
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Police have arrested and charged a woman with murder after they say she stabbed her live-in boyfriend, who later died as a result of his injuries.
Tonya Michelle Bell, 41, was arrested on Wednesday afternoon and charged with murder as Ronnie Bruce Hill, 46, died at Shands Hospital on Monday afternoon as a result of his injuries, according to a police report.
The incident happened early Sunday morning in the 1000 block of Pearce Street. A friend of Bell's told police that she, Bell, Hill, and Hill's father arrived at Bell's house prior to the incident, according to a Jacksonville Sheriff's Office police report.
Bell's friend said that Bell and Hill had been drinking before they got to the house. She said that Bell and Hill got into a verbal altercation, which then turned into a physical altercation.
Then, Bell grabbed a landscaping light from the yard, at which point Bell's friend was able to break the two up, according to the report. The two continued arguing and Hill began walking back toward Bell.
Bell then said "I'm tired of your (expletive), bring your (expletive) over here." Hill then swung his fist at Bell and she stabbed him in the neck and the chest. He was transported to Shands with life-threatening injuries and died Monday.
