Police looking for female battery victim

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is looking for a female who is the victim of a battery who may have witnessed a hit and run.

Investigators are looking for a female who was battered by a white male outside The Jacksonville Landing prior to a hit and run that occurred in a West Bay Street parking lot, according to a news release from Jacksonville Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Melissa Bujeda.

Bujeda said the battery occurred between 12 a.m. and 2 a.m. Friday, August 10.

Investigators are looking for the battery victim because they would like to speak with her about the hit and run which they believe she may have witnessed.

It does not appear the victim reported the battery to police, Bujeda said.
