Police investigating body found downtown | News

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Homicide detectives with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office are investigating a dead body found behind law offices downtown.

Police were to called to the area behind 255 North Liberty Street after a body was found around 7:45 Monday morning.  Jacksonville Homicide Sergeant Jay Farhat said the body was found by employees arriving to start their workday.

Farhat said at this time they suspect foul play and are treating the death as a homicide.

The victim is described as being a white male and approximately 30-40 years of age.  Police are working on identifying the victim.

Right now it is believed the victim died overnight from Sunday to Monday, Farhat said.
