Double homicide investigation near downtown | News

Jacksonville, Fla. -- The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office is investigating a double homicide on the 1000 block of Spearing Street.

Sgt. Shawn Coarsey says police received calls about a shooting in the area around 4:00 a.m.

When investigators arrived they found a man and woman shot and killed in a yard.

Witnesses told police they heard multiple shots and a vehicle speeding away.

Police are working to get a description of that vehicle.

Sgt. Coarsey says the home where the victims were found is known to be a drug house where many people come and go.  They believe that may make it more difficult for them to identify the victims.
