Debate over your tax dollars takes place today | News
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- It's a debate about your tax and fee money.
Jacksonville City Council President Bill Bishop will debate Councilman Matt Schellenberg about a Council plan to determine if the City can take money from agencies you may use every day.
The agencies in question: JEA, Jacksonville Port Authority, Jacksonville Aviation Authority and Jacksonville Transportation Authority. Some Council Members want to find out how much money these agencies have.
They want to see if they can get this money, and re-direct it so the City can use it -- maybe for re-development, maybe for city maintenance, or any other use City Council may earmark for that cash.
You are invited to the debate. It takes place Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at City Hall on the 4th Floor in City Council Conference Room A.
