JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- An Oversight Committee challenged Turner Construction for answers about Duval County's new courthouse Friday.
City Council members questioned the company about its background and the many problems with the courthouse's fire system.
Members also brought up past issues clients have had with Turner Construction, including lawsuits filed against the company in Palm Beach County.
The city has not yet fined Turner Construction for not passing on bond savings to a customer.
A tentative opening for the courthouse has been scheduled for Monday. For now, cases are being handled in the old courthouse, and traffic cases are being handled at the Duval County Traffic Court on Beach Boulevard.
