JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The City of Jacksonville is celebrating the 20th-annual World of Nations Celebration.
The event offers visitors the opportunity to travel to more than 35 countries in a single visit without leaving Jacksonville.
The World of Nations journey started Thursday and ends Sunday. It features the rich traditions and authentic foods of countries such as The Bahamas, Bosnia @ Herzegovina, Cambodia, China, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Ghana, Haiti, India, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Lebanon, Mexico, Nigeria, Panama, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Puerto Rico, Senegal, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, St. Lucia, Taiwan, Trinidad & Tobago, Turkey, U.S.A., U.S. Virgin Islands, Venezuela and Vietnam.
"We are proud to host an event showcasing the tastes and talents of so many people who build upon the rich, international heritage Jacksonville has enjoyed since French Huguenot Captain Jean Ribault landed here 450 years ago," said Mayor Alvin Brown in a statement. "Bringing different cultures together helps to build a stronger city."
