JACKSONVILLE - 400,000 people in America have Multiple Sclerosis, a disease that attacks the central nervous system.  3000 people are in the North Florida.  This Saturday, the local MS chapter is kicking off a series of walks to raise money to find a cure for the disease.  Rebecca Corbat from Jacksonville has MS and has put together a team of walkers.

Tony Chiaravalloti, the owner of ACE Printing on Main Street, is helping Corbat by donating a few dozen personalized T-shirts for her team and cause.  "Whatever we gave is very little compared to what Rebecca is going through,'" says Tony Chiaravalloti

Corbat was diagnosed with MS about two years ago.  "It's very unpredictable. We don't know what's going to happen. I might wake up one day and the symptoms come and I can't move. It's scary.  Anything that can help would be wonderful."  Corbat says she and her team, the MS Walkers are still looking for donations.

The MS walks have been going on since 1989 and MS organizers expect this year's walks will raise $240,000. "It's a

lot of fun first of all. Jacksonville DeVille is going to be there this year at the Orange Park walk. There's food. It's a festival atmosphere.  It's family friendly, people bring their pets out and walk with them.  It's also a rallying point just to get together and celebrate trying to end MS," says Sara Conrad, Marketing manager for the North Florida National MS Society.

The first Walk MS is Saturday, March 31 at the Orange Park Kennel Club. The festivities start at 8am, the walk is at 9am.  The Jacksonville walk is on April 14th at A Phillip Randolph Blvd.  The festivities start at 8am and the walk begins at 10 am. In St Augustine, the walk will start at R.B. Hunt Elementary.  Festivities start at 4pm and the walk at 5pm.

The Tallahassee event is at Lake Ella.  The festivities start at 8am, the walk at 9am.  In Gainesville go to Westside Park, the festivities start at 8am, the walk at 9am. And in Pensacola the walk is at Seville Square.  The festivities start at 3pm, the walk at 5pm.  Go to the Walk MS: National MS Society website for more information and to register.
