JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A woman from Atlanta finished the Gate River Run with an unofficial time of 49:40, according to our news partner the Florida Times-Union, making her the overall women's elite category winner.
Janet Cherobon, 33, won the elite category of women for the first time. Cherobon will claim not only the women's champion title but also the prize of a $5,000 equalizer bonus.
The women were given a seven-minute head start in the race before the elite men's category started.
The men's winner was no stranger to a championship. Mohamed "Mo" Trafeh finished first for the elite men's group for the third time, according to the TU. Trafeh's unofficial time was 43:22.
