JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- JSO homicide detectives and the state fire marshal's office are working together to investigate a fire that killed one person Friday night.
The fire broke out just after 8:30 p.m., according to a JFRD dispatcher.
As firefighters began to put the fire out at the vacant boarded up home located at 1027 Grant Street they discovered a man's body inside, Battalion Chief Mike Pickett said.
The man went to Shands Jacksonville after the fire, and Pickett said he died at the hospital.
Now investigators are trying to figure out who the man is, what he was doing in the home and what started the fire.
