You Should Know – Phil Mickelson shot a final-round 64, 8-under to win the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.  On Sunday, he beat out runner-up Charlie Wi by two strokes.  With the victory, Mickelson became the 9th player to own 40 PGA Tour wins.  He earns $1.152 million for the win – his first since last year’s Houston Open – and moves to No. 11 in the world rankings.

Jaguars Bite of the Day – The 2012 Team Teal season kicks off tonight at EverBank Field.  Team Teal commissioner Tony Boselli, Jaguars head coach Mike Mularkey and Jacksonville mayor Alvin Brown will be in attendance.  The festivities will take place in the West Touchdown Club.  Gates open at 5 p.m.  Those who attend can take part in a self-guided tour of the Jaguars’ facilities, including the locker room and weight room.

College Football Nugget – On Friday, former Arkansas and Southern Cal quarterback Mitch Mustain signed a minor league contract with the Chicago White Sox.  He had plans to play with the Arena Football League’s Georgia Force.  However, Mustain, in a tryout with the White Sox, threw a fastball over 90 mph.  From 5News in Fayetteville, Arkansas, he stated, “I’m going to play one sport or the other until somebody tells me to go home, until they’re not even going to let me try.”

Broadcasting Note – Jerry Sandusky’s wife almost ran over a reporter.  WPXI reporter, Courtney Brennan, dodged Dottie Sandusky speeding into her driveway.  Brennan was recording a TV report Thursday night, the day prior to Jerry Sandusky’s court appearance.

Strange Thought of the Day – Former MLB slugger Jose Canseco has a tryout with the Quintana Roo Tigers of the Mexican League.  The 47-year-old Canseco last played in the majors in 2001 for the White Sox.  What if he can still play?  Sorry, I caught Lin-sanity.

Tweet of the last 24 hours – @BobLeyESPN (Bob Ley, ESPN sportscaster) “Better week: Adele or Jeremy Lin?  Discuss.”

Stat(s) of the Day – The Detroit Red Wings beat the Philadelphia Flyers, 4-3 on Sunday night.  In doing so, Detroit tied an NHL record with 20 straight home wins.  The 20-game mark was set by the Boston Bruins in 1929-30.  It was tied by Philadelphia in 1976.  The Red Wings can take sole possession of the record with a victory Tuesday over the Dallas Stars.

Link of the Day – The topic of NFL TV blackouts was a hot one 40 years ago.
