You Should Know – The Murray State Racers were upset at home Thursday night by Tennessee State, 72-68.  Murray State was the last remaining undefeated college basketball team in the country.  The Racers were led by Isaiah Canaan, who scored 31 of his team’s 68 points.  With the loss, they’ll drop out of the top-10.  To close out the regular season, Murray State has tough matchups versus St. Mary’s, Tennessee Tech and Tennessee State again.

Jaguars Bite of the Day – Fortune Magazine looks at the NFL’s small-market teams.  New Jaguars owner Shahid Khan told them, regarding packing EverBank Field, “Winning on the field is big.  Having a winning tradition is huge…We have to win.”  The article touches on Khan’s want for the Jaguars to be a global brand.

College Football Nugget – Maryland quarterback Danny O’Brien is “strongly considering” transferring.  He has two years of eligibility remaining.  Since O’Brien will be graduating this year, he can start immediately for another program in 2012.  He could stay at Maryland, but other schools like Vanderbilt, Wisconsin and possibly Penn State will have interest.  O’Brien is like this year’s Russell Wilson, who transferred from North Carolina State and spent 2011 at Wisconsin.

Broadcasting Note – Actor Will Ferrell introduced Wednesday’s starting lineups for the New Orleans-Chicago NBA game.

Strange Thought of the Day – Why is Andre Iguodala still playing for the Philadelphia 76ers?  I thought he wanted a trade a long time ago.

Tweet of the last 24 hours – @NotBillWalton (The Bill Walton Trip, fake account for comedic purposes) “How on earth do you defend a guy like Durant?  How do you catch a cloud & pin it down?  How do you hold a moonbeam in your hand?  Impossible!”

Stat(s) of the Day – New York Giants receiver Victor Cruz set the team’s single-season receiving yards mark with 1,536.  For 2011, he earned $450,000.  His salary will jump to $490,000 in 2012.  I’m sure the second-year player can expect a long-term deal in the near future.

Link of the Day – A long-time friend of Colts defensive end Dwight Freeney, former Titans and Giants linebacker Keith Bullock, says Freeney wants to continue playing the end position.

Video of the Day – Against the Sacramento Kings, Oklahoma City guard Russell Westbrook had an electrifying dunk.  He’s one of the more exciting dunkers in the NBA.

Question of the Day – Why wouldn’t Bucks guard Brandon Jennings take more money and leave Milwaukee in free agency?
