You Should Know – The No. 1 Kentucky Wildcats (24-1, 10-0) buried the Florida Gators on Tuesday night, 78-58.  The win gave Kentucky its 49th straight win at home.  Kentucky freshman Michael Kidd-Gilchrist led his team with 13 points and 13 rebounds.  Florida (19-5, 7-2) was the first ranked team the Wildcats had faced in over a month.  The Gators move to 2-5 on the road.  These two SEC foes play again on Sunday, March 4.

Super Bowl Note – The odds were 50-to-1 that the first score in Super Bowl XLVI would be a safety.  Jona Rechnitz made that bet – $1,000 to be exact.  According to TMZ.com, the Giants fan is donating all $50,000 to charity.  He plans on giving $5,000 to the charity of Tom Brady’s choice.  And he’ll donate another $5,000 to the charity New York’s defensive linemen choose.

Jaguars Bite of the Day – The NFL officially released the first-round order of the 2012 Draft.  Jacksonville has the No. 7 overall pick.  The Jaguars will pick, assuming they don’t trade out, behind Indianapolis, St. Louis, Minnesota, Cleveland, Tampa Bay and Washington.  Last year, the Jags took quarterback Blaine Gabbert 10th in the first round.

College Football Nugget – An announcement will be made this afternoon introducing the University of Memphis into the Big East.  The Tigers will join the conference in all sports beginning in 2013.  Memphis will leave Conference USA.  Memphis’ exit fee, according to ESPN.com sources, is in the ballpark of $6 million.

Broadcasting Note – She attended the New York Giants’ Super Bowl celebration parade.  When asked by a TV reporter who she wanted to see the most, her answer: Mark Sanchez.  He plays for the New York Jets, not Giants.

Strange Thought of the Day – Could New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning be doing the same, if he had decided to play for the San Diego Chargers?

Tweet of the last 24 hours – @ReillyRick (Rick Reilly, featured columnist for ESPN.com) “Team that practices in New Jersey + plays in New Jersey with players who live in New Jersey is having a parade in New York.”

Stat(s) of the Day – On Tuesday afternoon, the Atlantic Sun announced UNF’s Parker Smith as the Conference’s Basketball Player of the Week.  In two A-Sun home wins, the junior guard averaged 22 points and four rebounds per game last week.  Smith also reached 1,000 points for his collegiate career.

Link of the Day – Via the Chicago Tribune, the Big Ten is now getting into college football playoff talk.

Video of the Day – Patriots offensive tackle Matt Light celebrated on a stage Sunday night, following his team’s Super Bowl loss.  Also, he has no shirt on.  My guess is “Dancing with the Stars” won’t be calling anytime soon.

Question of the Day – How much more popular can the National Football League get?
