City votes to save the Bostwick Building | News
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Land Use and Zoning Committee voted unanimously Tuesday evening to save the Bostwick Building located in Downtown Jacksonville.
The Bostwick Building has been in the city for more than 100 years. The original building burned down in the city's great fire of 1901.
The building has a foundation issue. The building's co-owner Val Bostwick previously told First Coast News he didn't want the building knocked down, but he said he saw no other viable option at the time.
This is the next chapter in a battle to give the building historic designation or do something else with this valuable lot.
