CAMP BROADWAY, June 13-17

Camp Broadway, presented by The Artist Series, is returning to Jacksonville for its 11th year on June 13 – 17, 2011 from 8:30AM – 5:00PM! Camp Broadway introduces kids aged 9 to 17 to the world of life on-stage and behind the scenes.  No singing, dancing, or acting experience necessary! Just a willingness to have fun and a curiosity about what happens on stage and behind the curtain! Our teaching staff of theater professionals offers each camper the opportunity to expand his or her creative talents, build self-esteem, learn the art of collaboration and gain a fuller respect and understanding of musical theater.

It has been proclaimed the “Camp of Dreams” for all those starry-eyed kids who are just beginning to dream of being on Broadway someday.  It is a self-contained summer workshop that travels around the country bringing Broadway to kids.  In a week-long program, aspiring young campers learn about the theater from Broadway performers.

The 40 hours of camp include singing, dancing and master classes for kids ages 9 to 17.  With authentic Broadway instructors teaching dance routines and musical numbers at the same break-neck speed as a real Broadway show, Camp Broadway® is a fun-filled week activities designed to teach kids about the serious business of live theater.

Camp Broadway® will be held Monday, June 13 to Friday, June 17 at the Wilson Center for the Arts, 11901 Beach Blvd. Camp hours are  8:30AM to 5:00PM each day.  Tuition for Camp Broadway is $550.00 per camper, with half due at time of registration, and applications are still being accepted.
