JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Sheriff John Rutherford will share the very positive impact that citizens Prayer Walking their neighborhoods in Jacksonville has had on overall crime reduction in the City. The Sheriff will also share how concentrated prayer on the Panama Park area of our community has been correlated with verified reductions in criminality in that community. These findings are a basis for expanding the Adopt-Your-Street Prayer Walking Movement across the entire Jacksonville Metropolitan area.

Students ready to rock in France

 

“La Caroline” is a new rock opera, which accounts the founding of a French settlement at Ft. Caroline in Northeast Florida.  It chronicles the lives of explorer René de Laudonnière, Timucua Chief Saturiwa and others who were part of this extraordinary period of history.  As the 450th anniversary of this intersection of cultures approaches, spectators will learn more about the Timucua people and European settlers through a blend of contemporary original music composition and dance.

Riders take the bridges this Saturday to benefit JDRF

“Bikers Tracking a Cure For Diabetes,” is a motorcycle ride that will venture over five of Jacksonville’s bridges on Saturday morning, June 9 and hopes to generate significant revenue for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) North Florida Chapter’s outreach programs and research initiatives.
