July 4 – Senior Days - Senior Days is a special program for members of the senior citizen community that includes a coffee and donut reception, an educational presentation, and free time to explore the museum.  The program starts at 9:45 a.m. and is $6 per senior citizen.  Reservations are suggested and are based on availability. Call 396.MOSH (6674), ext. 226 for details.

Just in time for the summer's biggest holiday, Florida By Water released their 2012 list of places to view fireworks from your boat. So far, they’re featuring more than 50 locations submitted by local Chambers of Commerce and Tourism & Visitors bureaus from across the Sunshine State.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Shoe Carnival will host the Jaguars’ 9th Annual 'Got Skills?’ Rookie Day on Friday, June 22nd at the Florida Blue Health and Wellness Practice Fields at EverBank Field. The event is scheduled to run from 9:00 to 11:30 a.m.

As another school year ends, graduation ceremonies have concluded, academic growth does not stop. DCPS is offering the Superintendants Summer Academy, but the challenge is finding students to attend this academic enrichment program.

Area Rescue Asking Residents to “Show Some HeART” this Summer

 

 

Jacksonville, Fla. – The Golden Retriever Emergency Assistance Team (G.R.E.A.T.) will host Show Some HeART Saturday, Aug. 25 from 7 to 10 p.m. Taking place at LIT Downtown Jacksonville, the canine-themed art event will benefit the organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and re-homing Golden Retrievers.  Tickets for the event are $10 in advance, $15 at the door.

Teams and sponsors needed for fundraiser to benefit area homeless

 

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – City Rescue Mission (CRM) will host the fourth annual Champions Challenge Golf Tournament on Monday, August 27, 2012 at TPC Sawgrass Stadium Course in Ponte Vedra Beach. The tournament raises money to fund programs and initiatives that help the homeless and needy in Northeast Florida get off the streets and back on their feet. City Rescue Mission does not receive any local, state or federal funding and is currently seeking supporting sponsors and tournament teams.
