Area Rescue Asking Residents to “Show Some HeART” this Summer

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Golden Retriever Emergency Assistance Team (G.R.E.A.T.) will host Show Some HeART Saturday, Aug. 25 from 7 to 10 p.m. Taking place at LIT Downtown Jacksonville, the canine-themed art event will benefit the organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating and re-homing Golden Retrievers.  Tickets for the event are $10 in advance, $15 at the door.

The show will display numerous dog-inspired works of art contributed from local artists. The pieces will be available for purchase through a silent auction which also will feature gift certificates, wine auctions, dog goodie baskets and much more. The silent auction will begin promptly at 7 p.m. and close at 9:30 p.m.

Attendees will enjoy a complimentary drink (domestic draft beer or house red/white wine) and hors d’oeuvres. LIT Downtown’s bartender also will be shaking a special drink in honor of the event – The Golden Damiana Martini. LIT will donate $2 of each Golden martini purchased to G.R.E.A.T. Rescue.

“Show Some HeART is a special event for us because, not only does it contribute funds that are so greatly needed for our rescued dogs’ medical care and rehabilitation, it also highlights amazing works of art that draw even more attention and give honor to the furry faces we strive to save,” said Judi Brown, president of G.R.E.A.T.

Show Some HeART is open to adults 21 years old and up. Sorry, no dogs allowed. For more information or to purchase tickets on-line, visit
