FORMER JAGUAR RICHARD COLLIER NOW A TELEVISION PERSONALITY WITH MILLER ON SPORTS | Crime

This Saturday, Richard Collier, former Jacksonville Jaguars player will add television to his lengthy list of talents.  Tommorow night (Saturday, February 4, 2012),  at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena, Collier will be the color commentator alongside Host Richard Miller (www.MilleronSports.Com), the Jacksonville Giants television play by play announcer since Season One.  The televised broadcast will air LIVE on CW17 at 7:00 p.m. and will be simulcast LIVE on AM 1010 XL radio. 

For the past month,  Collier has been a guest analyst on Richard Miller’s daily radio show, Miller on Sports, which airs on AM 1600 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.  Richard commented, “I asked Richard Collier to come into the show for an interview and was amazed at his radio talent.  His voice is perfect for radio, and listeners enjoy hearing him speak of his first-hand NFL experiences on and off the field.  Not only does Rich know football, but he is highly entertaining and just fun to be around.”

The former Jacksonville Jaguars offensive tackle (2006-08), is paralyzed and wheelchair bound as a result of multiple gunshot wounds from a 2008 shooting incident in the Riverside neighborhood of Jacksonville, Florida.  Tyrone Hartsfield was found guilty of attempted first-degree murder and is now serving a term of life imprisonment.

Regarding the accident, Miller said, “Some may think that Richard Collier is handicapped, but that is far from the truth.  I’d say that he has to use a wheelchair for transportation which is certainly a challenge, but Rich handles the situation very well.  When you are talking with Rich, he flashes his customary smile and fills the room with joy and happiness – the chair is easily overlooked.  Both Rich and I are looking forward to Saturday night, and we are hoping that you will come to the Arena to see the game or watch us LIVE on CW17.”

When asked about his upcoming television debut, Collier said, “Richard makes everyone feel comfortable on television and radio.  We’ve built a repore over the past few weeks that could lead to bigger and better endeavors.” As former Jacksonville Giants player and national Budweiser Reality Show Contestant Dwayne Jackson  said this week in his interview with Richard, “Richard is the big time.”
