Visit Jacksonville Begins President and CEO Search

 

Visit Jacksonville, the official destination marketing organization of Greater Jacksonville, announced today that it has initiated the search process to fill the President and CEO position of the organization.  Visit Jacksonville has partnered with SearchWide, a full-service executive search firm primarily for companies in the travel and tourism industry, to conduct the search.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- As the Panama Canal nears expansion and ports up and down the East Coast compete for dollars, the city's infrastructure and business potential were the focus of a panel discussion this morning.

Former Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell, co-chair of Building America's Future Educational Fund, joined officials from Jaxport, the Jacksonville Transportation Authority, the Jacksonville Aviation Authority and CSX at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront to discuss what needs to be done to make the First Coast more competitive.

Jaguars Ownership Transferred to Shahid Khan

 

Ownership of the Jacksonville Jaguars was transferred today from Wayne and Delores Weaver and their partners to Shahid Khan. The Weavers had owned the franchise since its inception in 1993. Wayne Weaver and Khan signed an agreement on Nov. 29 to sell the team.

Crowley Acquires 500 New 40-Foot High-Cube Containers

 

Crowley Maritime Corporation's liner services group is continuing to grow and update its equipment fleet to better serve customers with the addition of 500 new 40-foot, high-cube containers. The acquisition adds to the company's already robust equipment fleet of more than 45,000 units, as well as phases out some older containers.
