The Ritz Theatre and Museum announces the opening of a major gallery exhibit “More Than a Game: African American Sports in Jacksonville, 1900-1975”.  The exhibit will open on Friday, July 1, 2011.

Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront’s Annual 4th of July Bash on Monday, July 4th from 7:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. is a perfect opportunity for the entire family to come out and rock the night away with a front-row seat to Jacksonville’s fireworks spectacular. The event will feature Spanky the Band, one of Jacksonville’s premiere rock bands, with food and beverages bountifully available. Hyatt guests can purchase tickets for $10 and non-guests can purchase tickets for $20 at the door.

City Kidz Food Science Educational Laboratory in downtown Jacksonville is hosting a city-wide sensory taste test sampling of their newly formulated Viva Vanilla Kosher Premium Ice Cream.  Viva Vanilla is formulated by Teens from Stanton College Prep, which is voted by Newsweek Magazine as the third public school in the nation, Darnell Cookman, the High School of Medical Arts, and James Weldon Johnson Middle School.

It's the ULTIMATE Happy Hour that lasts for 3 hours!! Affair in the Square happens every third Thursday of the month during the spring and summer in San Marco’s shopping district. The square is located at 1790 San Marco boulevard and runs from 6:00 pm through 9:00 pm.There will be live music performers, vendors, wine tastings, local artists, face painting for the kids and more. High Honors for Ad Agency

At the American Advertising Federation’s National ADDY competition, one small multicultural agency truly shined. Playing in the big leagues, Brunet-García Advertising won three gold and one silver national awards – the most of any agency in Florida and the Caribbean. Only one other multicultural/Hispanic agency received an award at the national level. The winners were selected from 1,382 entries from a full range of advertising agencies around the country.

BG received Gold ADDY awards for the Block x Block Illustrations, the Players by the Sea “The Full Monty” poster and the Players by the Sea poster series. A Silver ADDY was also awarded for the Players by the Sea building design.
