Agriculture Commissioner Gary W. Black alerts consumers to the recall of Publix Premium Light Tiramisu Ice Cream because it contains almonds without listing them on the label.

The Publix Premium Light Tiramisu Ice Cream product may contain Publix Premium Coffee Almond Fudge Light Ice Cream, resulting in the presence of unlisted almonds.

People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to almonds run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

The recall affects the Publix Super Markets’ five state operating areas of Georgia, Alabama, Florida, South Carolina and Tennessee. The product UPS is 41415- 13343. The product lot code, which can be found on the bottom of the ice cream carton, is ‘Sep 12 2011 B7 PLT 12-444.’ The product packaging features a Publix Premium Light Tiramisu Ice Cream carton and a Publix Premium Coffee Almond Fudge Light Ice Cream lid. Publix officials said the issue was brought to their attention by a consumer who noticed the mix-matched packaging.
